Kingsway Retirement Living Receives Worker Schooling and Coaching Scholarship | information

Kingsway Retirement Living, a department of the Lutheran Home Association, has received a $ 18,586 grant from the 2021 Home and Community Services Employee Scholarship Program (HCBS) administered by the Department of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC) of the Minnesota Department Health (MDH).

This award is intended to support the costs of training and development of employees in order to advance careers in the HCBS area.

“With this grant, we can encourage our team members to develop and develop professionally while supporting the training currently available.” said Sandra Hyatt, director of human resources and development at Kingsway.

The grant allows Kingsway to provide first aid training in the nursing department, as well as tuition and testing fees for certified nursing assistants, trained drug workers and a certified activity director.

“The ability to cover training and certification costs is a benefit for Kingsway and our team members,” said Joel Ulland, Kingsway Housing Manager. “We are pleased to be able to use this advantage and continue to invest in our greatest capital – our employees.”

The fellowship period runs from July 2021 to June 2023. Investing in the education and training of local health professionals recognizes the day-to-day commitment of caregivers to ensure high quality patient care and the health and safety of seniors encourage calling the Kingsway home.
